I love my work. After about a month at Chapala (a Mexican restaurant in Eugene), I'm finally starting to fit in there. The most exciting thing is that I get to practice my Spanish all the time; though (despite living in Quito) I'm humbled every day with how little I know and how MUCH MORE I need to learn. Daniel (Chilo), my friend there, told me last night that almost the entire staff gets together on Fridays to play soccer after work so I'm pumped to get started with that!! My boss is also super cool. He teaches me little phrases that people say in the restaurant. For example, when it's a really slow night he walks around to all the waiters and says, "¿no te baƱaste?", meaning "You didn't shower?". Which of course is to say "Are you scaring off all the costumers with your stench?". O I love it. It's funny because I always seem to dread going in, but once I'm there the time flies by.
Other events in my life include hanging out with my friend Niha 24/7, getting SO excited for Lauren to get home, eating at Yumm too much, and only having one more week in Spanish class before starting another four-week Internatinoal Studies class.
Hasta pronto.
